It'd be one thing if you pay rock-bottom fan fares or whatever, then no big deal that's great. But since you have limited control over the CX metal you'll fly on regionally, you could easily be a "premium" Y class flyer, paying $500+ USD for your fares and get stuck in 33P. I just don't see how that's a winning proposition for CX long-term. JL Y class, for example, blows this out of the water.
Agree that the J on 33P feels strange. Same (sh*tty) regional seat, but it feels even worse than on a 320 for some maybe mental or psychological reason....
But for Y... Actually the mini Y cabin is quite good.... Sans that they are using the fixed shell Y seat so you may not want to fly a red-eye on 33P...
