Consider that you may need hotels or airfare during your treatment. I used points for my Mom when she required twice daily radiation treatments as an out patient during one phase of her care plan. Staying a block from the hotel eased her stress versus commuting from home or hanging out in the hospital waiting room each day.

You might also use airfare to assist those coming into town to visit you or needing hotel rooms rather than playing host yourself during this stressful time.
