Not nearly as good but I have to share something positive as well (and I think there's a compliments thread these posts can be merged into?). But we were flying into SNA recently, were going to miss our connection due to mx so were rebooked to LAX. Oddly enough our bag made our original flight to SNA even though we didn't (last minute delay). Was mildly frustrating given that SNA is a million times easier for us so we were not looking to driving to SNA for our one bag. Shortly after arrival at LAX though we get a call from the SNA baggage office and they offer to deliver our bag. Wow! Said it would be late in the evening but that was fine with us. Sure enough our bag was delivered at 9 PM. I have to say I was shocked! I wouldn't have faulted AA at all for making us drive to pick our bag up so this was an incredibly pleasant surprise. Thank you to the SNA baggage office for being proactive and taking care of us. I've been meaning to write a compliment to AA about this so I'll definitely do that now.
