The only one I would not agree is Grand Hyatt. In domestic USA, Grand Hyatt is positioned as large upscale business hotel. There are NO boutique design style or luxury type Grand Hyatt in US, but there certainly are some of the best JW can reach to this level in US.

Consistency wise, Grand Hyatt wins, but almost all of Grand Hyatt(internationally) including the resort ones is into the same upper upscale position level, this brand is never meant to be luxury, Hyatt puts it as premier same as Hyatt Regency, while JW and Intercon is positioned as Luxury by Marriott and IHG, so that is why there are few JW and IC built as truly luxurious properties and can directly compete with Four Seasons or Mandarin, while there are no such Grand Hyatt properties.

I would say Grand Hyatt is more comparable to Westin.

Four Seasons

Park Hyatt

Andaz (maybe)

Starwood LC (somewhat variable, but most are luxury or very close)

Aman

Belmond (former Orient Express Hotels)

One and Only

Waldorf Astoria

Conrad (close but probably dominates JW)

Radisson Blu (again, close)

Grand Hyatt (close)

Rosewood

Banyan Tree

Langham

Imperial (very limited number of hotels, but they do have some sort of loyalty program and affiliated credit cards)

Kempinski

Design Hotels

They're certainly not brands and chains, but I also think R&C, LHW, SLH, FHR, Virtuoso properties, etc. are generally better than JW. Also, although they're generally not luxury, I would add Spanish Paradors Portuguese Posadas to the list as they tend to be very interesting.

I'm sure I'm forgetting some that should also be on the list.
