Those of you who have flown the 788/9 into and out of IAH know this is a gain in reliability, and certainly not a loss. The sCO 772s are far more reliable than the 788/9 family, even if the oldest sCO 772 is 18 years old. It did not surprise me that when I flew IAH-DEN-NRT two weeks ago that we were delayed out of IAH by 1.5 hours due to a technical issue on the 788; this has been an abysmal pattern for me on the 788 and I've lost hours of productive on the ground work time as a result of these 788 technical issues. So I went back to the non stop IAH-NRT flights except for two weeks ago, when the polaris cabin was sold out and I had to route through DEN.
Enjoy the 788/9 reliability issues, IAD hub.
