A stay is defined as any number of consecutive nights at a hotel, regardless of check-in and check-outs. Verbiage nearly identical to that is found somewhere in the T&Cs of the program.

IOW, they already thought of that and, no, you can't scheme the system that way. Go to a different hotel on night #2 .
