In domestic flight - Indonesia, Lion air (JT) provides free 20 kgs of checked baggage, while AirAsia (QZ and XT) provides free 15 kgs of checked baggage.

In Malaysian domestic, AirAsia (AK), doesn't offer free checked baggage. Malindo (OD), a subsidiary of Lion provides 20kgs of baggage IIRC.

my experience with both airlines:
- they often waived a slight excess of checked baggage (1-2 kgs)
- Lion sometimes asked pax to tag their carry-on and measure the weight in check-in counter
- AirAsia rarely weighed the carry-on on check-in counter, but sometimes their staff looking around for seemingly oversized baggage in boarding area/gates.

however as other posters mentioned, it would vary between airports and times.
