I'm all for slagging on UA, but they are pretty upfront that the new seats are being rolled out and that Polaris is as much (or more) about the service concept. Honestly, I think this particular complaint belongs in the same category as the "calling it Delta One makes people think it is IFC" and "people think the D1 suite will be like a 'true' suite", which is to say a fabricated grievance.
If anyone is confused, UA's website is abundantly clear (bolding mine).
The new United Polaris seat is now on select aircraft and will be added to additional aircraft over the course of the next few years.
