The Underground is only an example. Contactless payments are
widely accepted in the UK, and this makes paying with a Chip & Signature card easier than otherwise. I forced myself to use Android Pay for two full days on the Underground, and it was a nuisance. I often had to touch more than once, or input a password/PIN.
