(2) How many miles do you usually fly each year & in what class? How many flights/sectors?
<25000
(3) What types of fares do you usually buy?
Economy
(4) Can you choose your airlines and/or class of service? Do you travel for work and/or pleasure?
Only for pleasure
(5) Which routes and airlines do you fly most often?
QR/BA to Europe, QF to Australia, JL to Japan, potentially Cathay to US.
(6) What is your home airport?
SIN
(7) Do you have FFP status of any kind in OW or other airline? What is it? Do you have any miles banked in a FFP?
No
(8) Preferred Airlines? Most common Airlines flown on?
SQ, but looking for alternative to use credit card points if SQ is not available. Can be FFP of QR, BA, CX, QF. The most interesting awards seem to be with CX but I'm not sure on availability vs QR or BA FFP and the miles expire after 3 years.
Looking at your profile and home base, QF currently presents the best value overall.
QF status gives benefits on 3K, JQ, EK, MU, FJ, and across the entire OW network.
Annually, you will need 4 minimum sectors on QF group airlines, which is a piece of cake with 3K being based in SIN. Just book 2 return starter plus fares to somewhere and you get the minimum 4 sectors.
QF has an interesting chart for intra-asia travel in premium classes. Most 3-4 hour flight destinations would already earn ~ 80 status credits per way in J.
I can't comment on the points redemption reasonability part, as the J fares for certain OW airlines ex SIN are cheap enough to warrant cash fares instead.
