It sounds as if you want to book these as two separate tickets (you can't combine a cash booking and an Avios one on a single ticket), in which case should you miss your connection (definitely a distinct possibility), you'd be unprotected and would have to repurchase your second leg.
I'm not even sure you could book it as a single ticket (either cash or Avios), although I'n not sure what the LGW minimum connection time is.
