Well, I got 10,000 miles for $30, too. But they are Continental miles, so I am not certain they are worth anything. Will find out soon, trying for a ticket to Lima, Peru.
It would have been better use of my time to work an hour or two to earn the money the 10,000 miles less $30 is worth. I spent an incredible amount of time on this. Never have I received more wrong or contradictory answers and incorrectly executed instructions from customer reps for any institution, even airlines.
The most valuable thing learned here is to never do business with Chase. Fortunately, I understand they are in the process of being bought out by BankOne.
