For this bit, are BA being more clever or
more restrictive
- i.e. safer? While the EU/UK CAA may permit rear facing, BA do not, and so car seats installed on BA seats have to comply with BA's tighter rules. This would have been tested/decided by BA Engineering, etc.
Had you known in advance you wouldn't have brought the usual seat and might have taken other precautions.

- BA simply have a tighter policy that still complies with CAA but doesn't allow your car seat. It deems your seat not as safe as it would like, and either wants a seat compliant with BA policy or for you to hold your little 'un.
