Codes on CA customs declaration forms
This thread pertains to Canadian airports and customs.
After you hand over your customs declaration card (form E311) to border officers (or the machine found in some airports now), ever wondered what the codes/numbers they write on the form mean? I never understood what they mean or the logic behind them. Anyone has any idea?
For ex. a few days ago, I arrived on a flight LHR-YYC. The CBSA machine stamped "79" on my card, another PAX next to me had "57". When we went to the customs officer, he let us both pass after collecting the cards from us...
Just curious what these numbers mean..
