I've got a Fare Lock that's about to expire for a trip from EWR to MIA for my family and my Sapphire miles are taking a while to transfer to MileagePlus. I read online that it's usually instant, but we're going on the 3rd day. I've got a $1,500 voucher that I can use, so I'm wondering a few things:
A) How long do Sapphire miles usually take to transfer? Any way to push them through?
B) Should I put half the tickets on miles and half on a $1,500 voucher I have?
C) If I do thing B and the points come through, can I do anything to use them instead of the voucher? My sense is that it's not 1:1.
Thanks for help - called both United and Chase and they haven't been very helpful.
A. In my experiences, Sapphire miles transfer instantly. Sign out of your united account and sign back in (do this a couple times). Sometimes the number of miles you see on the home page doesn't accurately reflect the amount of miles in your account. Click "My Account" and see if you see a transfer posted. Signing in/out of your United account will help refresh this number.
B. I would refrain from having separate PNR's only because if you have elite status, things get more complicated. Furthermore, if IRROPS happen, things can really get messed up because your family would be on separate reservations and the system would treat them differently.
C. Not knowledgeable enough to answer? I would think no.
Refresh your United account!
