Well, I've been flying AS since 1978 and I remember the good ole days of FC service fm PDX/SEA-ANC. I don't think we'll ever see those days again but I still enjoy the service provided by the staff at AS. You could do a search on the boards and find all sorts of info on the FC Upgrade policy that will be in full effect after 4/30/02. No more FC certs. Check the AS web page for all the details. As for the MD-80's they were to start phasing them out this year but will not do so. They'll keep at least the four they were planning on retiring in service as they delayed delivery on new 737-700 and -900 series aircraft. I was fortunate enough to fly on the 739 last year in FC and it was a pleasure.
