Like many thousands of others, I acquired Hilton Diamond through the free and easy match last year (based on earned Hyatt Diamond). The fact is, they have given it away way too easily.
I thought about directing 40K to Surpass this year to keep Diamond for next year, but am now thinking the Chase UR points will be more valuable.
No, Marriott is 6 stays Gold and then 9 stays Plat. You need NO proof to do it so you can't compare that to Hilton. You have 8 months to do them both. They give you the rest of the month + 3 months. All chains have had status matching at one point and then when Hilton starts doing it everyone cries foul. Okay..
I never said it was difficult, I just said it wasn't easy (you put it into your own words) for a lot of people living in locations without cheap DTs and garden inns. We have to split our stays and go out of our way to spend $200 per stay as well as one day break inbetween. 8 stays in 90 days is MORE than required in a normal 90 day period.
It is also silly that you are complaining about status matches and fast trackers and an IT bug when you took advantage yourself. Hotels are still prioritising suite upgrades to regulars and you still get your lounge and breakfast so who cares. It's petty to want others (who have elite status in another chain and were willing to complete 8 stays) to not get breakfast and lounge. Lol.
People will find any reason to complain.
