Years ago there was a double mileage promo on UA and my partner's father, my partner and their friends would fly oak-fat and then take the bus back and then do the same. One trip, the gate agent asked how many were flying for this promo, many raised their hands, she just pulled their tickets and told them to go home. Mind, this was in the early 80's.
