I have never seen the new config. But I might see some rational here on both.
The pax will have to remove the window/door and stash them out of the way. Out of the way presumable means rows 15 or 17 near the widows. Either of these locations might be impacted by a recline in 14/16af.
Admittedly a wild guess. But something has to be the basis of what Wdiget just reported.
