Another option would be to fly into Stuttgart, spend the morning looking at the Porsche museum (if you're that way inclined), and then get the ICE (2hrs) into Munich HBF. On the return you can either fly out of MUC, or go back to Stuttgart. (We did this to avoid a stupidly expensive outbound, but the inbound was quite reasonable). Also see Nürnberg.
