The W is my favorite SPG hotel in Bangkok, so I would recommend it any time. It's not on Sukhumvit and a little farther away. Depends on how much you want to get involved in the festivities, but I would imagine the W would be quieter than the Westin because of the location. It's definitely a nicer hotel than the Westin IMO.
