The topography of Boston v NYC is different enough so it matters. Boston is generally in the top five windiest cities in the US, and NYC is nowhere near that, for reasons dealing with having much hillier terrain surrounding it, etc. As it turns out, that has impacted Boston's Architecture including the famous Hancock Tower, which, in addition to it's falling window problem, also had to be retrofitted for greater wind resistance.
