This is the industry definition of "ticketed by". You can get an 086 ticket from a travel agent. You tend to have less control over what stock a ticket is plated on when issued by an agent; however, if your itinerary is all NZ flights then it should plate 086. If booking with a live agent you may confirm that "Air New Zealand is the validating carrier of this itinerary".
