Had a nice 5 night stay on points, and we enjoyed the modern architectural design and the landscaping of this hotel. We decided to upgrade to the Griffin Club, and I contacted the concierge before our stay, and they offered the MR Platinum discount rate of $205/nt (normally $250). Negotiated a $175 rate plus tax and service charge for two people. It appears the rate varies based on occupancy and season.

Originally placed in a second floor room facing the ocean and overlooking the GC pool, but moved to a 5th floor ocean view unit. The FD was very accommodating, and we were able to visit a few rooms before deciding.

Breakfast in the Mayma lounge was very good with fresh juices, omeletes made to order, and assorted pastries. Soft drinks, beer and wine were available in the lounge throughout the day and Premium Open Bar available at night. The nightly appetizer offerings were soup, small salad plates, and sandwiches (tuna fish, cheese, seafood salad) which was underwhelming for us. A nice service feature is the ability to order any menu items from any of the restaurants on property, and they will deliver it to the lounge. We had a great dining experience at Café Des Artistes. We tried the “Tastings” menu and although the portions were small, each course was well presented and delicious.

Service was excellent at the GC pool area and lounge. There were plenty of lounge chairs available around most of the pools, and we were told the hotel was at about 60% occupancy. There was no charge for access to the wet spa for MR Platinum members and guests staying in the GC section. The spa facility has a beautiful lap pool, water fountain area, heated and cold plunge pools, sauna, and steam room.

Overall, a good relaxing stay, and we plan to return in the future.
