Interesting, I didn't realize AC actually still does 2 free bags in Y on some routes.
As stated, the website says "No overweight or oversize charges apply when the additional bag fee is paid." So if your friend is taking one extra bag, that would be the oversized one too, and she'll pay $225 + taxes. If taking just two bags, one of which is oversized, cost is $100+taxes only.
However, I do feel this is a situation where you may get into a conversation with someone who knows better than you (and the website) because they work there.

If your friend is taking a 3rd bag - Print the website, highlight the part about not paying oversize charges for additional bag free, and take to airport.
If you friend is taking just 2, one of which is oversized, I think they'll be fine and just pay $100+.
In summary, she and dr_torch are right. I have no idea what taxes will be levied.
