a friend of mine (no status) will be travelling on Air Canada from YHZ to Australia in Economy Class, with a 2 day stopover in YVR, all on one ticket.

Her ticket says that she can check 2 bags for free. She wants to take 2 or 3 bags to YVR only, and then re-check a single bag to Australia two days later.

One of the bags to be left in Vancouver is oversized.

What are the fees she will be charged at YHZ?

My calculation: CAD 100 + 15% HST - whether she checks 1 normal bag + 1 oversized bag, or 2 normal bags + 1 oversized bag from YHZ to YVR.

Her calculation:
1 normal + 1 oversize: CAD 100 +15% HST
2 normal + 1 oversize: CAD 225 + 5% GST or 15% HST

Air Canada's calculation: ??? I couldn't figure it out from the website.
