JL (and to large part NH too) are prime example on how full service carriers can differentiate themselves against LCCs through offering good products even in Y, and accordingly command price premium and maintain profitability. It is probably the only carrier i can tolerate flying long haul Y on. Sad to see that BA and CX choose the 'death by thousand cuts' route which I believe will drive away even their elites LT.
Well...NH has gone to 9 abreast on 787 and 10 abreast on 777 though.
