Formerly named Warsaw-Okecie Airport (Port Lotniczy Warszawa-Okęcie) or Okecie International Airport, the airport bore the name of its Okęcie neighborhood until its renaming in honor of Polish composer and Warsaw native Fryderyk Chopin in 2001.
