I was on a flight leaving LCY at 1800 last Wed and the place was HEAVING!!! I got there at 17.10 and was glad I hadn't left it any later as it took a good 20 mins to get through Security. Queue for the stairs, queue at the top of the stairs then queue for the barriers (which weren't opening as there was too big a scrum of people queuing on the other side). It was painful but speeded up once I got near the actual Security section. At least at that time on a weekday evening the vast majority of travellers are regular business travellers so they're pretty slick at getting through security. None of the Gatwick style surprised expressions at having to take liquids out, coats off etc.
I was dressed down (i.e. not in a suit - definitely more Shoreditch than Canary Wharf) so had some stroppy BA person try to block my path to the Club desks when I went to check my bag in. I teetered on the brink of a DYWKIA moment grrr.
