so the prices area bit high this summer? I thought that was the case (Lake Louise was starting at 949 CAD; Banff 750 CAD).... Anyway to combine the Virtuoso amenities at teh hotels with the packages if booked together with Rocky Mountaineer?
Nice tip on the Icefield Parkway- there would be the option for them to pick up the Via Rail Jasper to Toronto which looks tempting in Prestige class....
Thanks

I wouldn't put much effort into understanding their hundreds of packages. I'd probably just try to get a general idea of what's offered (i.e. number of days, routing, Silver vs. Gold service etc.) and then have them price the 1-2 packages you'd be most interested in.
Yes, hotel rates are definitely somewhat higher than in previous years. There are three main reasons IMO:
- Canada's 150th anniversary celebration (incl. free park entrance fees to all national parks)
- the very favourable USD:CAD exchange rate which has led many US toruists tovisit Canada
- general concerns about safety in Europe, Zika in Central America & Caribbean; again leading to an increase in demand for travel to Canada
I don't think Virtuoso benefits would apply at the hotels when booking the hotels through Rocky Mountaineer (which you don't have to do), but not 100% sure.
