If we are going to fly from Dallas->Canada->Tokyo, spend a week there, fly Tokyo->Bangkok, spend 3 weeks there, fly Bangkok back to Tokyo->Canada->Dallas , are we looking at any weird stipulations or anything I'm not aware of?

It was mentioned in this thread that we would want to book the flight to Tokyo as soon as its showing up on the Aeroplan website, and then separately book coming back. I have no clue what a PNR is but I was reading something about "linking" my flights together.. I'm feeling a bit in over my head at this point. I thought I could just book the flights and fly.. are there some Visa requirements or stuff that I'm not aware of?
Assuming you are a US citizen (with no criminal conviction or other issues that would impact your eligibility to travel), there is no need to apply in advance for a visa for a trip involving a connection in Canada, 1 week in Japan and three weeks in Thailand.
