My personal interpretation is that if you are able to book a King as guaranteed and then they don't have it for you on arrival, that's when the Room Type Guarantee would apply - not for situations where they are already sold out at booking. Seems that others may disagree in this thread, though - I'm not seeing a definitive answer.
