I cannot promise that there will not be a large line for the TWOV, but we did this twice in February and there were no lines at all. On the other hand, the normal immigration was packed. Definitely YMMV, but we found the process to be quite easy....although not as easy as the transfer facility. If better award tickets don't open up, I wouldn't think twice on continuing with what you have booked.
