paul00, I think we also need to consider whether the alleged hidden manufacturing defect affected the safety of (any) A350 aircraft. My read of this is that Airbus has designed a poorly functioning steering direction valve, which causes an aircraft to become inoperable from time to time. This means that each A350 aircraft will be out of order from time to time due to the valve not functioning, but the part as such is not a risk to flight safety. If A350 aircraft were unsafe for flying due to the valve malfunction, then surely the fleet would be grounded until Airbus has designed a better functioning valve.
