Short city tour in Singapore + Singapore-KL overland by bus
The MRT train I hop from Changi Airport arrived at Bugis Station.
Bugis Street, one of business hubs in Singapore
Actually I came here to eat Bak Kut Teh in Rochor Centre. But after reaching there, I realized that all stores and kiosks there have been closed.
Then I decided to walk to Little India. Here I bought a plate of Indian briyani rice with fried fish and boiled egg. The portion was so large, enough for 2 people.
Then I took the city bus to Marina Bay Sands, an entertainment complex with unique building design, containing hotel, shopping mall, restaurants, and casino (1 of 2 legal casinos in Singapore, the other is in Resort World Sentosa). The rooftop was resembling a boat with one of world's highest-located swimming pool.
Gardens By The Bay, a futuristic garden located behind the MBS.
Then I took another city bus to Orchard Road, a popular tourist spot with famous shopping centres (Ngee Ann City, Lucky Plaza, ION, Tangs, etc)
I went inside the Ngee Ann City and found some interesting books in Kinokuniya, a Japan-based book store. Actually there were also their branches in Jakarta, but Orchard Road's Kinokuniya had more collections.
Then I took 30 minutes break and bought a local-style ice cream at a stall in Orchard Road. The ice cream was served with a slice of bread.
From Orchard Road, I once again took a bus. This time I went to Clarke Quay. Here I had my dinner: famous Song Fa Bak Kut Teh, with a long queue to be served. Bak Kut Teh is a Chinese-style pork ribs soup.
Close to it was Chinatown are, a center of Chinese society in Singapore. There was a giant rooster statue welcoming the "Year of Rooster" according to Chinese lunar calendar.
Returning to Clarke Quay. Here we could see a riverside area filled with bars and restaurant.
Then I took another city bus to Golden Mile Complex. From there I would hop the bus to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Golden Mile Complex was a centre of inter-city (or most exactly, "inter-country") bus departing from Singapore, and also a centre of Singapore's Thai community.
The bus departed from Golden Mile Complex at 10.50 p.m. After around 40 minutes, we reached Tuas Immigration Checkpoint (Singaporean side), then crossed the Malaysia-Singapore 2nd Link and reached the Malaysian side checkpoint, Sultan Abu Bakar Immigration Complex. After the immigration check completed, we boarded the bus again and I slept peacefully until arriving in Kuala Lumpur.
