I hope this is the right place to ask this. I was doing a somewhat wide search for fares from NRT-LAX. However, all the way through the end of the year, it looks like United economy fares are around $4200. I tried sampling a few flights and it looks like the seat map is wide open! However, there are still no economy fares available, just flexible economy.

Is there something wrong with the system, or has United chosen not to sell regular economy seats on this route anymore? Or some other reason?
