I stayed here several years ago with family. I can tell you one thing: You're lucky it was off-season. During normal and peak seasons this place gets PACKED.

I see they have renovated the rooms. I recall we had to ask them to change the room as us too were upgraded to a very large suite at first that reeked of smoke. They then aplogised that they only had a prestige suite to upgrade us to - no smoke, but just like the first suite we were shown was quite run down.

Another thing that bothered us was the quite pushy staff of the spa when walking past - they also did not look like they focused on massages. The hotel at that time replied that they would look into that as the spa was run "by a third party".

But I too give a thumbs up to this hotel.
