Sorry to keep posting to my own post but I am still looking for help with the following issues:
If I am involuntarily denied boarding because AA has changed the plane from a bigger to a smaller plane I am or am not entitled to compensation? In the past I have been told absolutely "no soup for you" even in a case where my delay waiting for the next flight was 8 hours. In the case referenced in my post however the couple claims they got the max one can get for an involuntary bump even though the bump was due to an equipment change
On a flight cancelled for weather reasons resulting in the need for a an overnight stay I KNOW I have never been able to get compensated. In the referenced case the party flew into LA from Australia and had the LA to ASPEN flight cancelled for weather -The couple referenced claims they got vouchers for transportation and hotel. Are the rules different if a flight is booked as an international - Australia to Aspen - with one stop in LA then if the flight was domestic all the way?
Thanks to anyone out there who might know the answer.
