I stayed there a few years ago too. I'd say it was definitely post-renovation, because the rooms were very nice. I think I was in a Luxury Room w Club Access. It had a lovely view over the Nile.
I didn't use the hotel facilities much, however, so I cannot comment on the health club etc.
