Six weeks later, AY just e-mailed me to say that they will happily pay EU261 compensation for my cancelled BMA-HEL flight. They have offered either EUR 250 in cash or EUR 370 as a travel voucher on AY.

Not a bad result, I would say!

Also: I just realised that along with them reimbursing my travel expenses incurred due to the cancellation, the compensation comes to EUR 261 - just like the number of the EU regulations!
