I am not totally convinced that the "note in the system" is a real thing most of the time.
As a Chairman they say that they have notated my profile that I prefer Infiniti vehicles, however, it really hasn't ever impacted what I am upgraded to.
Honestly, I think it is something they just tell the customers to make them feel like they have been taken care of. Although, last year in Columbus I went back to the counter because they had upgraded me to a Volvo. I asked why and they said "your profile said that you wanted a QXX". I told them that isn't a Volvo, it's an Infiniti... so it looks like it also comes down to how much effort the location wants to put into it.
