Excluding AA - which has a hold policy.
Most US airlines give you 24 hrs full refund on purchased tickets.
If you are debating the ticket purchase - acquire it and monitor over the next 24 hrs and eitehr keep it, cancel it within that time period based on your research.

As someone previously indicated Google & Kayak are good trending analysis on airfare city pairs/dates.
