But yes, air con works in winter. Not sure why you'd think differently? Air con in summer is tougher, since most air con systems can't cool beyond 20 degrees from the ambient temperature (unless using split level units). I had no issues with air con that same week at the Renaissance Providence, the Sheraton Hartford South, the Sheraton NYC Times Square, Sheraton Phila Univ City, or Le Meridien Arlington for the nights before staying at the Liberty!

I'd stayed previously at this hotel and had no issues with my air con.

The managers admitted there was something wrong the air con units in that wing. So that should also tell you something.
