Question MAD transit anomaly

Going out to ALC via MAD. If I price up BA458 07.20/10.50 connecting to IB8392 11.50/12.55 if it valid and bookable by BA.

If I try IB7443 ( code share for BA 458) it only allows connection to IB8394 16.20/17.25 so a 5hr+ wait at MAD.

Is the first connection doable. Does BA come into 4S or 4 at MAD. I think IB( Air Nostrum) goes from 4. Is this a risk transit to book. Which one is correct.?

BA458 operated by long haul 777. IB codeshare is cheaper than BA.
