Are you sure its double status miles? I forgot about the cheapy fares that only pay 25% - it sounds like IF this really is status miles that you may only get 50% of your flight status miles. Hmmm - some LH flights to get close to 15k in a higher fare type are around $2,000-USD for economy.
I am questioning if its worth the status chase or not. Thanks for the heads-up regarding the fare type - I totally did not take that into account.
