I booked a standard king room and got a corner room as an upgrade. Technically speaking it was a corner room, but the stairs was on one side so we didn't have windows on 2 walls.
Overall it was a good stay as location is great, but nothing stood out to me about my experience as a Diamond.
So, the new restaurant (Jackrabbit) was not yet open for business this weekend. They still had "Training in Progress" and are supposed to open today. Looks the same as the old place. Also, the lobby bar had very limited hours, so we went to the main building.
Breakfast ended up being interesting
First, we got there close to 9AM. We were able to check-in and got rooms in the (still) Executive Tower. Got vouchers for following morning breakfast. Asked about vouchers for that morning, but was told that it was just for the number of night we were staying- certainly reasonable, but never hurts to ask. So we did something else for breakfast that day.
Well, in the wee hours of the following morning, an envelope came under the door with two more vouchers. Had we used the other vouchers the first morning, all would have been well, but no way to know. of course.
With the restaurant at Executive Towers closed, it was pretty busy at Hop City in the main building, but not bad. Voucher
still said that it was valid toward any other menu item, and I believe I overheard the hostess say that to someone.
We went with full buffet, which should have a $4 up-charge. When I gave the waiter the vouchers, he just zeroed out the whole thing...nice gesture.
If one wants an omelet, or anything not in the buffet, it's ordered from the waiter rather than at a counter as many places do. Took a little time, but was very nicely done.
Overall a nice enough place in a very good location.
Cheers.
