90 minute AS International to AS Domestic @ Lax with GE?

Coming in from Zihu on to Sea. There is a connecting flight that gives us a 90 minute connection. The next one is 3.5 hours connection.

The AS website does not offer the shorter connection as an option but before I call and ask....I assume that there is a reason why. I don't know the logistics of AS flights in LAX so perhaps such a connection is impossible or too risky.
