I have an upcoming trip CDG-DOH-SIN and have been offered a cash upgrade on QR0040 CDG-DOH J-F €470pp, original booking class C. Perhaps this could contribute some information to the wiki post.
I have a few questions related to this cash upgrade offer:
1. As we are two travelling together, should we pay a total amount of 940 euros and take the offer? (This is the first time we travel on QR metal, the business class looks quite good but first class does not seem so impressive compared to other airlines)
2. Our connecting time in Doha is three hours before we hop onto the flight to SIN which is an a350 with only J class, do we have access to Al Safwa Lounge in transit?
3. Will there be a staff at the arrival gate to meet us and help us through the transit?

martini123 welcome to FlyerTalk and especially to the QR forum. And thnk you for your praise. We are quite a number of members who constantly strive to improve the content and to keep the friendly atmosphere.
EUR470 per person actually sounds like a bargain compared to the EUR1302 for the same journey mentioned in the Wiki.
If you do upgrade then you will have access to Al Safwa because you are arriving on longhaul F (over 5 hours flighttime). This is described in the Wiki on

It is usual that F passengers are met at the aircraft door and excourted to Al Safwa. However there hve been a couple of reports earlier this year that passengers were not met. I think that these were exceptions rather than a new practice.
Above all, upgrade or not, sit back and enjoy the flights.
