The QF case, I supposed he only had blue so they will certainly not let him in, but suppose I have both MVP Gold and EK silver, I wonder they will grant access as a good gesture
Bending the rules by saying: "oh, you have MVP Gold on your booking but I see you have an EK silver card so I will give you extra baggage/lounge access in DXB"

On the QF CL case - QF CL would have granted him the equivalent of EK Platinum + extra allowances above Platinum, if he had that on his booking.
