Came here in advance of my stay and saw info is a little dated, so I figured I'll contribute.

I have stayed here twice in the past six months (when Hilton Americas and Embassy Suites have been sold out--their locations work better for me), once as recent as this past weekend.

My stay back in the Fall made me never want to go back. The room was very worn...stained carpets, chipped paint everywhere, holes in the ceiling in the bathroom. I'm usually not insanely picky but this was bad. This past weekend, I had a much better experience. I think they have done some updating, but the hotel can still use a refresh. Despite a lacking hard room product, the service was great, status recognized, unprompted check for upgrades (got a corner room but no suite), etc.

Breakfast left me wondering if/why anyone would pay money for it. Good news is, my friend working in the building next door told me the restaurant, and hotel, are going to get a complete makeover in the near future. Definitely needs it. I would probably keep this last on my list of Hilton properties in downtown Houston for the time being.
